: Guests looking to practice their swing while on vacation can take full advantage of the PGA-rated 18-hole course at Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort. The golf course, redesigned and remodeled by well-known architect P.B. Dye, opened in December 2010. Crossing a leafy mangrove forest, the course boasts 25 inland lakes, 122 strategically placed sand traps and is surrounded by native plants and species. The award-winning course makes the most of the natural surroundings, allowing guests to feel immersed in the tropical atmosphere. For those staying at the resort, transportation to and from their rooms is available. Course amenities include storing and cleaning of equipment, lockers and showers for guests, food and drink service on the course, cold towels to cool off during their time on the green, private and group lessons, a pro shop, and management available for tournaments and groups. The golf course was also recently awarded gold for the 2017 Travel Weekly Magellan Award for ‘Hospitality - Overall-Golf Resort/Hotel.’ Additionally, there is an 18-hole miniature golf course available from 9 am to midnight for the little ones to enjoy or for golfers looking to practice their swing before hitting the greens.
